Alexander Scott Morton, known to most as Alex, passed away on April 9, 2026, at the age of 27. Alex was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, on January 30, 1999.

Alex is preceded in death by his grandmother, Teresa Hollins; great-grandparents, Bill and Julia Worley, and Marcella and Earnest “OB” Breakfield.

Those left to cherish the memory of Alex include his mother and step-father, Cindy and Wes Hall; biological father, Grady Morton; grandfather, Kenneth Hollins; aunts and uncle, Patti Tuckwiller (Steve Dubay), Michael Hollins (Evelyn), Leighann Brown; half-sisters, Felicia Macias (Cesar), and Kayla Lawson (Josh); step-sister, Allison Hall; and a host of loving family and friends.

As a child, Alex was spoiled rotten by his Maw Maw Teresa, and they had a special bond until she passed away. Alex was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of five and his Maw Maw, along with his mother, served as a constant support to him as he spent multiple days of his young life in the hospital because of his illness. As he matured, Alex became a quiet man who enjoyed the outdoors. He found joy in kayaking, fishing, or taking a long drive down country roads in his truck.

Throughout his young life, Alex struggled with many demons and now is finally free. He was loved and treasured by many and will be truly missed. Rest in peace Alex, you don’t have to check your sugar. Mom
