Anne R. Lovell, of Holly Pond, Alabama, was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday evening, April 4, 2026, at the age of 80. Mrs. Anne was born in St. Clair County, Alabama, on December 14, 1945, to the late John H. and Mae E. Owen Smith.
Friends are invited to join the Lovell family on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. for a time of visitation. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Earl Harper officiating. All services will be held at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Holly Pond Cemetery at the conclusion of services where John Fincher, Josh Gibson, Don Smith, Jared Walker, Mike Rainey, and Royce Shad will serve as pallbearers alongside honorary pallbearer, Anakin Myrick.
Mrs. Lovell is preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Smith, Jr.; sisters, Erma Mayhall, Marie Mitchell, Vernell Smith, Ola Mae Burns, and Mary Elizabeth Rogers; as well as her oldest granddaughter, Kristin.
Those left to cherish Mrs. Anne’s memory include her beloved husband of almost forty-three years, Marvin Jimmy Lovell; children, Tommy Eric Lairson (Brenda), Sharon Anne Fincher (John); grandchildren, Beverly (Josh), Kelley, and Katie; great-grandchildren, Emily, Ryleigh, Anakin, and Ava; sister, Joan LaBine; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anne was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed worshiping her Savior alongside her husband, friends, and neighbors. Mrs. Lovell was active in the church as long as her health allowed, and she enjoyed ministering with the ladies of the church in providing meals for various church functions.
Anne was devout in her faith, loving her Heavenly Father with unwavering dedication. Her love for her family came from an understanding of the love God had for her as His child. Anne was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who walked through many hard days providing for her children alone before marrying Jimmy. Anne made sure her babies were fed and loved, and they are forever grateful for the sacrifices she made to ensure that they were cared for. Jimmy and Anne provided a loving home for their children, and they were thrilled when grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived.
Mrs. Anne had a green thumb, and she enjoyed cooking for her family from the abundant garden she grew. Her beautiful flowerbeds served as a welcoming invitation to her family as they joined together for visits and family meals with Anne and Jimmy. Anne truly made home special for her family, showing them the love and strength of a devoted wife and mother, and they will miss her greatly. Her legacy of faith, love, and family will be cherished for generations to come.
Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lovell family, and our prayers are with them as they go through the coming days.
