Upon receiving his diploma from Fairview High School, Anthony enlisted in the United States Army. Mr. Cook served his nation honorably and his willingness to defend his nation and its people is deeply appreciated. Mr. Cook was a truck driver for many years, and he loved his time on the road. After retiring from the transportation industry, Anthony went to work for the Alabama Department of Transportation where he helped maintain the roadways he traveled for many years.

Mr. Cook was a collector of tools and guns. He had every imaginable tool and was prepared for any situation he might need to use them in. He also collected guns. Anthony had a passion for keeping family heirlooms restored and he made sure that family keepsakes were treasured, including firearms that had been passed down for many generations.

Anthony was an avid Alabama fan, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer for his beloved Crimson Tide. In his spare time, Anthony enjoyed fishing. Mr. Cook had a special place in his heart for children and dogs as well.

As a tenderhearted and gentle man, Mr. Cook was a helper at heart who offered encouragement or a helping hand to anyone who needed a friend. Anthony protected and cherished his sister, Rhonda, from an early age. Mr. Cook was given the task of watching the baby for his mother and an inseparable bond between big brother and little sister was formed. Anthony loved all his siblings and family, but the friendship he had with Rhonda was truly special.
