April Dawn Steele

April Dawn Steele passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 47. April was born in Decatur, Alabama, on February 2, 1978, to Leldon Junior and Vickie Diana Partain Steele.

April is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory includes her fiancé, Christopher Lawson; son, Phillip Steele (Samantha); siblings, Terry Mears (Dana Blackman), Tammy Loyd (Christopher), Rhonda Weaver; grandson, Huxley; and lifetime best friend, Mary Peoples.

Ms. Steele loved the outdoors, and she especially enjoyed spending time fishing. She liked thrifting and going to yard sales, collecting ink pens, coloring, and going to the movies. April had a good sense of humor and even through her hard days, she laughed and joked with her family. Ms. Steele loved her family and friends and enjoyed any time she spent with them. April also loved her little dog, Tinker Bell.

April’s legacy of laughter and love will be remembered for many years to come, and she will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

A memorial service for Ms. Steel will be announced at a later time.
