Belinda Jeanette Mathis Rice, 75, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on July 24, 2025. Mrs. Rice was born to James Ardis and Virginia Effie McKinney Mathis on June 29, 1950, in Jefferson County, Alabama.
Belinda had a fun spirit that led her to live a life full of joy. Mrs. Rice enjoyed crocheting, listening to old country music, visiting Nashville, and her adoration for Elvis was second to none. She also had a love of animals, and her pets held a special place in her heart.
As a home health aide for twenty-five years, Belinda extended great skill and compassion for those she had the honor of caring for. Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Rice was also a nurturing and devoted person and was an exceptional mother and Nana to her children and grandchildren, and a loving wife to her husband.
Mrs. Rice is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ginny Patterson; brother, Don Mathis; and sister, Shirley Jones.
Those left to cherish Belinda’s memory includes her husband, Dwight Rice; daughters, Barbara Robinson (Scott); Stacy Rzeszut; grandchildren, Krystal, Kole, Kaleb, Ty, Blake, Marissa (Dustin): great-grandchildren, Oakley Mae, Raegan Kay, and Kaden; brothers, Terry Duke, Tim Raley; sister, Melba Patterson; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many dear friends.
Friends are invited to join the Rice family as they celebrate the extraordinary life of Blinda on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. A time of visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
