Ben Williams, age 83, of Hanceville, passed away Sunday morning, September 17, 2017 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Wade and Martha Cribbs Williams in Plant City, FL. Mr. Williams had worked for the railroad, Sheriff’s Department and was a cattle farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Wayne Joseph Williams; brother, Wade Williams, Jr.; Sisters, Mary Alice Curl and Virginia Green; and great-grandchild, Brooklyn Williams.
Survivors are loving wife, Thelma Horton Williams; son, Mark (Suzette) Williams; daughters, Debra (Mark) Howard and Teresa Campbell; grandchildren, Tracey (Tony) Stephens, Wesley (Leara) Cummings, Jason Howard, Heath (Amanda) Williams, Austin (Nina) Williams, Tiffany ( Rodney) Chambers; host of great grandchildren.
Service will be 1 pm Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at Center Point Baptist Church with burial in adjoining cemetery. Mr. Williams will lie in state noon until service begins at 1 pm. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 at Holly Pond Funeral Home.
