Betty "Sue" Drake

Betty Sue (Moore) Drake, 74, of the Center Point Community, passed away on Saturday morning, July 3, 2021. She was born November 1, 1946, in Cullman County, to Robert “Bob” and Lessie “Pearl” Williams Moore.

Mrs. Drake worked as a sitter for the elderly prior to her retirement. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. Sue loved her family more than anything, and she loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family will miss her greatly.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Pearl Moore; brothers, Marlin Harris and Bobby Moore; sisters, Mozelle Banks and Margie Johnson; and several special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband, James Drake; son, Brandon and Shannon Drake; daughters, April and Jason Smith, Cherrie and Jamie Harris; grandchildren, Zane Miller, Sadie Smith, Somer Harris, Anna Harris, Arleigh Harris, Carsten Drake, Eli Rainey, and Jacob Rainey; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services, for Mrs. Drake, are 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Center Point Baptist Church, Bro. Josh Drake officiating. Sue will lie in state an hour prior to services, from 1 p.m., until services begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery, with Zane Miller, Jason Smith, Jamie Harris, Brandon Drake, Kevin Brown, and Josh Drake serving as pallbearers. Carsten Drake will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive guest, at the church, on Monday evening, July 5, 2021, from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m.
