Bobbie Sue Burden

Bobbie Sue Mardis Burden, 88, of Baileyton, passed away on October 4, 2021. She was born, in Morgan County, on April 2, 1933.

Ms. Burden worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at the Margaret Jean Jones Center. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens where she loved to tend her flowers as well as watch the birds that came to her bird feeders. Bobbie was an avid reader, and she enjoyed a good book. Ms. Bobbie Sue loved her family and she enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed.


Bobbie Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Clinnon Burden; mother, Nipalois Mardis; grandparents, Tilmon and Effie Mardis; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Helen Humphries; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Burden; brother-in-law, Tommie Moore; and grandson, Zachery Burden.


She is survived by her sons, Clinnon Henry Burden and Marty Malcolm Burden; brother, Terry Randall Humphries; sister, Hazel Moore; grandchildren, Brandy Burden, Matthew Todd Burden (Claire); great-grandson, Ethan Burden; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.


Graveside services for Ms. Burden will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Corinth Cemetery, Bro Jerry Harper officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family, at the cemetery, from 11 a.m., until services begin at 11:30.
