Bobby B. Byrom

Bobby B. Byrom, 89, of Arab, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was born April 27, 1929, to Paul E. and Bethal Annice Mcallister Byrom.

Mr. Byrom was retired from retail sales, having worked for companies including JC Penny and Montgomery Ward. He was also a longtime member of Bonds Chapel Holiness Church. Bobby loved to learn and could often times be found working a word puzzle. He was passionate in his love of books, having collected thousands over his lifetime. Mr. Byrom loved to read the works of Mark Twain in particular. Bobby’s love for words was not satisfied by reading alone; he was also a published author.

Mr. Byrom was welcomed into heaven by his parents; brothers, William (Melvin), Sidney, Willard, Paul Oleth, Johnny Huston; sister, Ruby Marie; great-grandchildren, Sara Ann Willmon, James Edward Willmon; and his beloved wife, Gladys Fortner Byrom.

He is survived by a son, Robert Jeffery Byrom (Robin); daughter, Judy Willmon (Verlon); brother, Richard Byrom; grandchildren, Jason Willmon (Lisa), Rebecca Hill (Keith), Clay Byrom (Kala); great-grandchildren, Brooke Hill, Hunter Willmon, and Camilla Byrom.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Verlon Willmon and Steve Mayhan officiating. Burial will follow in Brooklyn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to services, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
