Callie Faye House, of Hazel Green, Alabama, passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 91. Ms. House was born in St. Clair County, Alabama, on June 11, 1935, to the late Edwin Verdell and Lillian Gertrude Harris Wilson.

In her younger years, Ms. House enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed growing roses in her garden. Her children have memories of music playing on the record player and Ms. Faye dancing along to the music as she went about her daily chores. Faye was a homemaker primarily, but she did work a brief time at the telephone company as well as a nurse’s aide at Carraway Methodist Hospital.

Faye loved to read and the library was a beloved treasure trove of endless enjoyment. She carried her children to the library and instilled in them a love for books and the stories within them. Faye also loved a long walk and when she was not reading, she could be found enjoying the neighborhood while on her walk.

Later in life, Ms. Faye enjoyed attending Moody Baptist Church where she worshipped alongside her friends and neighbors. She was a longtime resident of Ashley Manor, in Moody, where she formed many friendships with her fellow senior residents. Faye enjoyed their community, and the many hours they spent playing games and cards brought her joy. She was especially fond of a good game of Rook or Canasta.

Faye was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her children and grandchildren will cherish her many memories. She leaves behind a legacy of love, and her family and many friends will miss her until they are reunited with her.

Ms. House is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Frank Malone House; daughters, Tina Marie House, Donna Faye House, and Brenda Leigh House Bigbee; brothers, Bruce Wilson, Edwin Wilson; sisters, Sue Beavers, Beth Wright; and grandson, Andrew Parris.

Those left to cherish the many memories of Ms. Faye include her son, Terry Frank House (Karen); Linda Kaye House Saylor. Janet Carol House Parris (Shawn); grandchildren, Grey Saylor (Sarah), Craig Saylor (Liz), Benjamin House (Mary), Michael House, Christina Abror (Gideon), David House (Myah), Joshua Clemons (Angel), and Cali Parris; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Silas, Joash, Samuel, Peter, Malachi, Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Asher, and Elizabeth; son-in-law, Ronald Bigbee; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 12 noon with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. Ms. House will be laid to rest in Holly Pond Cemetery following services.
