Daphne Elaine Speegle Langley, of Holly Pond, Alabama, was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday morning, July 18, 2026, at the age of 69. Daphne was born to the late Robert Franklin and Sylvia Inez Bates Speegle on March 4, 1957, in Cullman County, Alabama.

Mrs. Langley is preceded in death by her parents.

Daphne’s memory will be cherished by her husband, Larry Langley; sons, Derek Wade Langley and his wife Brittany; Matthew Blake Langley; grandchildren, Landon Langley and his wife Summer, Jaide Langley; expected great-granddaughter, Charlotte Rose Langley; siblings, Robert Delain Speegle and his wife Karen, Julia Belinda Hodge and her husband Neil; nieces and nephews, Chris Speegle and his wife Kelly, Valerie Speegle Keller and her husband Terry, Nathan Speegle, Skye Hodge McCreary and her husband Jay, Carlee Hodge; and sister-in-law, Susan Wiggins and her husband Randy.

Ms. Daphne was a child of God and her love for Him was evident. She was a member of Holly Pond Church of Christ, and she enjoyed reading and studying His word.

Ms. Langley liked to bake and cook, but her favorite hobby included all things Alabama football. She was an avid fan, and she enjoyed the rivalry among her family as they cheered on the opposing team.

Daphne’s love for people made her everyone’s biggest cheerleader. She truly wanted to see people succeed and was always praying for and encouraging those she loved. Daphne’s kindness and thoughtfulness could be seen in her actions. Even as the world moved faster, Daphne took time to send cards for special occasions. Often, she just sent a card with words of encouragement to help make difficult days a little easier – always reminding you that you were not alone and that she believed in you. Daphne was also a grateful person. She always enjoyed a surprise gift and no matter what she received, she was thrilled to be thought of and treasured her gift.

The most important part of Daphne’s life was her family. Her love for her husband and children was immense. She adored her grandchildren and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild. Daphne’s family will miss her intensely, but the amazing wife, mother, and grandmother she was will be remembered for generations.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with Delain Speegle officiating. Mrs. Langley will be laid to rest in Brooklyn Cemetery.
