Donny Ray Thomason, Sr.

Donny Ray Thomason, Sr., 58, of Blountsville, Alabama, passed away on January 7, 2026. Mr. Thomason was born in Blount County, Alabama, on August 29, 1967, to the late R.C. and Ivy Marie Thomason.

Mr. Thomason is preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings, Rachel Howell, Patricia Davis, Jimmy Thomason, Tommy Thomason, and Ronny Thomason.

Mr. Thomason’s memory will be cherished by his sons, Donny Ray Thomason, Jr. (Kristie Ingle), Timothy Ray Thomason (Emily Atchley); grandchildren, Isabella Marie Thomason, Dominick Jarrels, Conner Ray Thomason, Trenton Ray Thomason, Kaylee Thomason; siblings, Barry Thomason, Jerry Thomason, Terry Thomason; mother of his children, Roberta Gilley; and special friend, Kay Landrum.

Many people knew Donny from his fifteen plus years of working at Spring Valley Beach. Donny never met a stranger and was always easy to talk to. His sense of humor was amazing, and he had people laughing along with him as soon as they met him. Donny had a positive attitude and his outlook on life was infectious, resulting in him being someone people were drawn to and creating many lasting friendships.

In his free time, Donny enjoyed working on small motors and watching old westerns on television. He also enjoyed hanging out with his grand dog, Flip.

Mr. Thomason was a wonderful dad to his boys and an even better “Pawpaw Bulldog” to his grandchildren. His love for his family was evident, and his memory will be cherish by generations to come.

Donny’s memory will be celebrated in a graveside service, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at High Rock Cemetery.
