Doris Jean McCain

Doris Jean McCain, age 66, of Cullman, entered into the presence of our Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Birmingham. She was born December  5, 1951 in Lexington, Kentucky to Rosco and Edna (Richmone) Smith.

Ms. McCain was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker.  Doris was a member of Ryan Creek Baptist Church, where she enjoyed the fellowship of many friends. She especially enjoyed the ladies groups of the church and the friendships she had with her fellow church members.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Smith; and a sister Bernice Lucas.

Survivors include her sons, Gary Newby Jr. (Alice) and Michael Newby (Dionne); daughter, Kimberly Ann Loveless; brothers, Bobby Smith (Karen), Elwood Smith, Jimmy Smith (Mildred), Junior Smith (Siller), Rodger Smith (Stephanie); sisters, Joyce Turley, Janette Creel, Patty Loving, Patsy Kozak, Brinda Mustaine, Juanita Cocks;  sister-in-law, Delores Smith; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren with another arriving soon.

Pallbearers include; Houston Newby, Xavier Newby, Matthew Loveless, Andrew Loveless, Timothy Loveless, and Robert Kiger.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Ryan Creek Baptist Church.  Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ryan Creek Baptist Church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.  Mrs. McCain will lay in-state 10 a.m until services begin.
