Fay Delores Underwood

Fay Delores Duskin Underwood, 81, of Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away on August 25, 2023. Delores was born in Cullman County, Alabama, on April 19, 1942, to James Mildredge and Louvie Bell Phillips Duskin.

Ms. Underwood is preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-six years, William Woodrow “Woody” Underwood; brothers, Jerald Duskin, Richard Duskin; and sister, Beverly Nix.

Delores is survived by her children, Sharon Pinyan, Jeffery Alan Underwood, and Barbara Underwood; grandchildren, Cody Underwood (Latosha), Shayne Pinyan (Aubrey Robertson), Kimberly Thomas (Michael); great-grandchildren, Ava Mae, Allie Kate, Ashlyn Grace, Anna Noelle; brothers, Terry Duskin (Freda), Eugene Duskin (Linda); sister, Shirley Jeanette Alldredge (Donnie); brother-in-law, Randy Nix; sister-in-law, Diane Duskin; and caregiver, Susan Morgan.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Monday, August 28, 2023, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home chapel from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services are 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in the chapel, Brother Mike King officiating. Ms. Underwood will lie in state on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until services begin. A committal service will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery where Rodney Alldredge, Paul Duskin, Phillip Duskin, Brian Haynes, Curtis Bice, and Kevin Nix will serve as pallbearers with Jamie Duskin serving as honorary pallbearer.
