Gilbert “Wayne” Thomas Jr.

Gilbert “Wayne” Thomas Jr., age 61, of Holly Pond, passed away Friday, December 22, in Cullman. He was born July 27, 1956 to Gilbert Wayne, Sr. and Rubine Virginia Story Thomas.

He was a loving husband and father. Mr. Thomas was a truck driver, known by his fellow drivers as Cannonball, for 25 years and especially enjoyed driving for Tyson the last 5 years of his career.

Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shelia Ann Miller Thomas; a son, Joshua (Jessica) Wayne Thomas; a sister, Patricia Ann Thomas; and a nephew, Patrick Thomas.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, with James Burnham officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Arab, AL.

The family will receive guest two hours prior to the service on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 12 noon until the service begins at 2 p.m.
