Henry Roy Goodno

Henry Roy Goodno, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 92. Mr. Goodno was born in Cullman County, Alabama, on May 15, 1931, to Henry and Pearl Manord Goodno.

Mr. Goodno served our county honorably in the United States Army. He also farmed, enjoyed squirrel hunting when he had time, and was employed by the City of Cullman as a sanitation worker. Mr. Goodno was a hardworking man who loved his family. He will be missed greatly.

Mr. Goodno is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melba Waldrop Goodno; son, Vernon R. Goodno; and siblings, Troy Goodno, Floyd Goodno, Croff Goodno, and Vestell Goodno King.

Those surviving Mr. Goodno include his daughter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Goodno; grandchildren, Jeremy Goodno, Haley Guthery; niece, Marzell Watson; and a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Goodno are 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Adam Whitehead officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family an hour to services, from 12 noon until services begin. Mr. Goodno will receive military honors, and then be laid to rest alongside his wife, at New Hope #2 Cemetery following funeral services. Joey Ramey, David Heatherly, Karey Goodno, Doug Whitener, Heath King, and Dexten Duke will serve as pallbearers.
