Herbert Barnett

Herbert Barnett, 67, of Holly Pond, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born October 24, 1950 in Walter, Alabama, to Gilbert and Irene Bice Barnett.

Herbert was a loving father to Damon, and proud grandfather of Caden and Emily. A construction worker by trade, Mr. Barnett spent his life working hard to provide for his family.

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Irene Barnett; brother, Joe Barnett; sisters, Ann, Sandra, Juaena, and Kaye; brother-in-law, James Crumbley; and nephew, Brandon Barnett.

Survivors include his son, Damon (Amanda) Barnett; brothers, Alton (Sue) Barnett, Randy (Charlotte) Barnett; sister, Vaudean Crumbley; grandchildren, Caden and Emily Barnett; a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Jimmy Martin officiating.  Friends may visit with the family Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Duck River Cemetery. Damon Barnett, Caden Barnett, Josh Whitehead, Jason Barnett, Kyle Barnett, and Rodney Lee will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hanceville Nursing Home in memory of Herbert.
