Imogene Butler Taylor

Imogene Butler Taylor, 92, of Pinson and a long-time resident of Holly Pond, passed away Sunday, the 1st day of April, 2018. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Taylor; her parents, Roy and Flossie Butler; her brother, Reese Butler; sisters, Delilah Garner and Betty Pharris; and her great-granddaughter, Josalyn Parker.  She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Howell (Michael ) of Pinson, and Kathie Slate (Jim) of Hartselle; 7 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren;  two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine Cummings of Arkansas; Curtiss South (Curtis) of Georgia; two brothers, Paul Butler (Dorothy) of Georgia and Gerald Butler (Carol) of Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jean was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and “Nanny.” She enjoyed going to church and was a long time member of New Hope No. 2 Baptist Church. She loved her family, friends, and neighbors and they were in her prayers daily. The world is a little less bright with her passing.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery. Friends and neighbors are invited to visit with the family prior to the funeral on Wednesday. The family will begin receiving guest at 11 a.m.
