Janice Gail Cothren , age 63, of Cullman passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017, in Huntsville. Mrs. Cothren was born December 3, 1953, in Lincoln County, Tennessee to John Wesley and Opal Lee (Polly) Parks.
Mrs. Cothren loved her family. Mrs. Cothren was a wife of 45 years and is a mother, grandmother, and recently became a great-grandmother. Mrs. Cothren worked many years for Vanity Fair in the Holly Pond location at the Lee Plant. Mrs. Cothren attended church with her family at both Redan Baptist Church and Holly Pond United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cothren is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Randall Parks, Dennis Parks, and Tony Parks; and sister Peggy Chick.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Cothren; son, Chad (Faye) Cothren; daughters, Angela (Clayton) Walker, Sherry (Bill) Brannon; seven grandchildren, Jessica Lynn (Ace Simpson), Abigail Lynn, Madison Cothren, Connor Cothren, Sophie Cothren, Trever Brannon (Lauren Camp), and Katlin Brannon; a great-grandson, Noah Brannon; brothers, Gary Parks, Donnie Parks, and Harold Parks; sisters, Rachel Taylor, Yvonne Shelton, and Sammie Pigg.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Dwight Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Redan Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. Trever Brannon, Connor Cothren, Kevin McGriff, Ace Simpson, Steve Cothren, Jake Russell, and Wesley Parish will serve as pallbearers.
