John R Hawkins

Johnny Ray Hawkins, known to most as John, was born June 16, 1944, in Ohio. Mr. Hawkins passed away on March 17, 2026, at the age of 81.

Mr. Hawkins was a production worker for Goodyear for many years. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Alabama fan. He also enjoyed watching a good western in his spare time, and was fascinated with the possibility of UFOs, aliens, and Bigfoot.

John loved a good steak dinner or a meal from KFC, and dancing with his grandbabies, who lovingly called him “Big John” brought him joy. Mr. Hawkins was a reserved man who enjoyed his own company, but he was always happy to see his family, and they will continue to cherish the many memories they have made with him over the years.

Mr. Hawkins is preceded in death by his parents, and a stepson, Jeremiah Sansing.

Mr. Hawkins’ memory will be cherished by his wife, Becky Hawkins; son, Michael Hawkins; stepsons, Paul Sansing, John Sansing, Kyle Sansing (Anna); brother, Gene Hawkins; and a host of adored grandchildren.
