Jonda Ann Self

Jonda Ann Allison Self, 66, of Blountsville, passed away on July 1, 2021. She was born November 28, 1954, to Eugene Coy Allison, Jr. and Mary June Stevenson Allison.

Ann was born and raised in Blount County, Alabama. She is a member of the 1972 graduating class of Susan Moore High School.  After graduation, Ann furthered her studies at Snead State Community College.  She then became the first Certified Appraiser for Blount County, Alabama. Ann worked for the county for thirty years, while also being a wife and mother. Ann enjoyed the things that make life good. She loved her family – her husband, her boys and their wives, and her grandbabies. She spent her life doing for others and enjoyed being a friend to many. Ann served on the cemetery committee at Gibb’s Cemetery as well. Ann will be missed greatly by many.

Mrs. Self is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roland Allison.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Carthal Self; sons, Matthew and Melissa Self, Chase and Megan Self; three grandchildren, Colt Self, Owen Self, Cullen Self; a brother, Jeffery Allison; a friend closer than a sister, Annette and Bill Brannon; and more friends than can be listed.

In following Ann’s wishes, the family will hold a private memorial at a later time. Ann will then be laid to rest by her family in Gibb’s Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Kindred Hospice of Cullman for the exceptional care Ann received.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Kindred Hospice at 1015 1st Ave SW B, Cullman, Alabama 35055.
