Grand Judy

When we remember Grand Judy, certain words rise to the surface. Disney. Elvis. Christmas. Jesus. Not necessarily in that order – because she lived them all at once.

Her faith in Jesus gave her peace, joy, and a childlike trust that everything would be okay. You could feel it in the way she encouraged, in the way she loved, in the way she always brought light into the room.

Her love for Disney showed up everywhere – Mickey Mouse on the shelves, artwork on the walls, little reminders of wonder tucked into every corner. With her, life always had a touch of magic.

She delighted in Elvis – his music, his movies, the nostalgia and fun of it all. It was another way she embraced joy, with a smile and a song that never grew old.

And then there was Christmas. Nobody did Christmas like Grand Judy. The decorations sparkled, the games she planned made us laugh until our sides hurt, and the gatherings became memories we’ll carry forever. She didn’t just celebrate a holiday – she created an experience, every single year.

And of course – the birthday cookies. Her way of saying, You matter. You are loved. Simple, sweet, unforgettable.

She was faithful, creative, crafty, kind. She was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. She was steady love wrapped in laughter, magic, and faith.

When we think of Grand Judy, we’ll always remember the sparkle of Disney, the sound of Elvis, the joy of Christmas, and the faith of Jesus – woven together in the life of a woman we’ll never forget.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Billie Trucks, Jr and Ira Belle Trucks, as well as her husband, Phillip McBrayer.
