Karen Hanson

Karen Tipton Hanson, 64, of Joppa, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She was born February 27, 1956, in Arab, Alabama, to Conrad and Sue Henderson Tipton.

Karen was a cosmetologist for forty-two years and she owned and operated her own salon for many of those years. When Mrs. Hanson was not in the salon, she could be found in her garden. She enjoyed working in her yard and loved the beauty of flowers and plants. Karen was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Pond. Mrs. Hanson was an active member in her church, and she enjoyed the preaching of God’s word, as well as the fellowship of her church family, at Pleasant View.

Mrs. Hanson is preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Sue Tipton as well as a brother, Ricky Tipton.

She is survived by her husband, Don Hanson; son, Brady Hanson and his wife Reinah; daughter, Brandy Coppett and her husband Justin; brothers, Keith Tipton, Chris Tipton and his wife Cheryl; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Karen will be 2 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Chris Tipton, Cody Tipton, Connor Tipton, Brady Hanson, Cash Hanson, and Zander Hanson will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, at the church, from 12 noon until services begin at 2 p.m.
