Lila Mae Edwards

Lila Mae Edwards, 82, of Cullman, passed away on January 5, 2021. She was born January 3, 1939, in Morgan County, to Lester and Vernice Miller Cheatham.

Mrs. Edwards was a hard worker. She worked several different jobs throughout her life, including making cigars at the cigar plant and working in a machine shop. Lila was a wife and mom as well. She loved to garden, and she enjoyed spending time on the lake or at the pond with her husband before his passing. She and her husband were blessed with two boys and host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lila loved them all and enjoyed spending time with them. Mrs. Edwards and her family celebrated her birthday just days before her passing and memories were made that will be treasured for many years to come.

Mrs. Edwards is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Vernice Cheatham; husband, Joseph Kirkland Edwards; four of her brothers and sisters; and a daughter-in-law.

Survivors include her sons, Alan and Donna Edwards, Gary Edwards; grandchildren, Tiffany and Willie Oliver, Katie and Shamar Robinson, Kristi and Randal Clapp, Kenneth “Justin” and Dawn Edwards, Kacey and Nolan Hunt, Allie Barnett; four brothers and sisters; a host of great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edwards are 1 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2021, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday evening, January 9, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
