Melba L Eady

Melba L Qualls Eady, 84, of Holly Pond, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019. She was born August 16, 1934, to Dillard and Elwy Scott Qualls.

Ms. Eady was a bookkeeper and accountant. She worked in the cable industry and was instrumental in introducing cable into our area. Melba was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and recently became a great-great-grandmother. Melba will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Melba is preceded in death by her parents, Dillard and Elwy Scott Qualls; son, Glenn Eady; brothers, Donald Qualls, Eddie Qualls; and sister, Geraldine Qualls.

Survivors include, her son, Keith Eady; daughters, Peggy (Alan) Lemon, Joyce Miller, Susan (Doug) Finch; brother, Delmon (Vivion) Qualls; sister, Linda (Ray) Bolzle; sister-in-law, Becky Qualls; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild; and a close friend, Nellie Brown.

Funeral services for Ms. Eady will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2019, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Randy Burtram officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 27, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
