Melvin F. Johnson

Melvin F. Johnson, age 75, of Hanceville, passed away at his home Monday, November 7, 2016.  He was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama to Henry and Moe Belle Savage Johnson. His occupation was a fitter with NAFCO and was a member of  Church of God.   

Mr. Johnson is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Henry Johnson, Jr. and Jerry Wayne Johnson; sisters, Nina Thomas, Barbara Kennedy, and Patricia Ann New.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia Johnson; daughters, Sondra (Scott) Bruce of Inverness, Al and Sommer Lee (Gary) Brown of Trussville; brothers, Elmer Eugene Johnson, Marvin Ellis Johnson and Dale Conley Johnson; sisters, Alta Smith and Doris York; grandchildren, Katie Reid Williamson and Emma Zi Brown.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Holly Pond Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016, in Hopewell Cemetery, Hanceville with  Dennis Reeves, Officiating.
