Neil Emory Woods

Neil Emory Woods, 75, of Cullman, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. He was born April 23, 1943, to Berlin E. and Rosetta Ballinger Woods.

Mr. Woods was a truck driver for forty-eight years, owning and operating his own truck for many of those years. He also owned a wrecker service for several years. He was known to his fellow truckers by his radio handle, Alabama Country Boy. Neil loved a good old Western movie, old cars, old country music, and a day fishing. He treasured his dog, Bingo, and adored his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by many.

Neil is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Neil Woods, Jr.; sisters, Diane Phillips and Teresa Kay Bailey.

He is survived by his daughters, Tina Turney and Theresa Sisk; brothers, Cranford Woods, Charles Edward Woods, Arley Woods; sister, Mary Louise Tucker; mother of his children, Peggy Yount; best friend, Rex Tankersley; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, December 7, 2018, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Dan Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Ryan Thomas, Mike Yount, Trace Woods, Arley Woods, Landon Sisk, and Crystal Turney will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 6, 2018 for 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
