Nellie Jo Estes

Nellie Jo Estes, 85, of Holly Pond, passed away on July 5, 2021. She was born November 21, 1935, in Cullman County, to Arthur and Mae McGriff Estes.

Ms. Estes was a member of Rocky Branch Holiness Church. She was a talented seamstress and she enjoyed sewing and being creative.

Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mae Estes; brothers, Grady Estes, Luke Estes, Conard Estes, Ray Estes, Fay Estes; sister, Velma Estes; nephews, Wayne Estes and Dale Estes.

She is survived by thirteen nieces and nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a cousin, who is also her best friend, Doris Hardin.

Funeral services for Ms. Estes are 1 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Bridges and Rev. Royce Estes officiating. Ms. Estes will lie-in-state from 11 a.m., until services begin. Burial will follow in Brooklyn Cemetery. The family will receive guest on Wednesday evening, July 7, 2021, from 6 pm., until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

The family has requested that those who are unvaccinated please wear a mask while in attendance.
