Nicholas Stephen Woods, Sr, affectionately called Nick by most, passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 72. Nick was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, on July 15, 1954.

In the words of Nick, he “dangled his toes off the edge of the earth” as he chased his many passions. He was a Master Scuba Diver, loved to surf, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. Nick also loved horses and rodeos, as well as Alabama football and music.

Mr. Woods brought joy to his mother and was a devoted and loving brother and father. His life was one full of exploits and fun and he leaves a legacy of passion and adventure that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Nick is survived by his mother, Dottie Woods; stepfather, Larry D. Woods; son, Nicholas Stephen Woods, Jr; brother and sister, Lance Woods (Carly), Janie Woods; nieces, Lainey Woods, Stella Woods, Sloane Woods; lifelong friend, David Berry; and a host of cousins.

Friends are invited to join the Woods family on Wednesday morning, September 9, 2026, in Holly Pond Cemetery for graveside services where Nick’s life of adventure and excitement will be remembered.
