Roger
Whitehead
June 19, 1948 – April 14, 2026
Roger Whitehead, 77, of Baileyton, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2026. Mr. Whitehead was born on June 19, 1948, to the late Fate Arthur and Mary Lou Hill Whitehead in Marshall County, Alabama.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Milton Whitehead, and Billy Whitehead; as well as his sister, Doris Dean McMurry.
Those left to cherish the many memories of Roger include his son, John Roger Whitehead; brother, Lowell Whitehead, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roger was a skilled concrete worker, and he was also a farmer. Mr. Whitehead enjoyed working the earth, and from his vegetable garden a bounty of produce was grown that he and his family enjoyed. In his free time, Roger liked to fish in the pond on his property, and he enjoyed watching the races at the Baileyton Drag Strip. Roger also enjoyed NASCAR races.
Roger was a good father who raised his son, John, to the best of his ability. Like all fathers and sons, there were disagreements and hard days, but John knew his dad loved him. Roger enjoyed taking John to flea markets and yard sales where they searched for treasures. Roger also made an effort to listen to John’s music with him and would try to learn how to play video games, just so he could spend time with his son. Roger’s memory will be treasured by John and the Whitehead family for many years to come, and he will be missed by many in the coming days.
