Shelia Thomas

Shelia Thomas, 63, of Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away on November 10, 2021. She was born May 29, 1958, in Cullman County, Alabama, to Verbon and Ethel James Miller.

Mrs. Thomas worked in the healthcare industry. She was employed by both Oxford Health and the assisted living in Hancevile before her retirement. Shelia enjoyed visiting the Smokey Mountains and she was fond of red roses. She loved her family and was a devoted wife and mother. Shelia will be missed greatly by those who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Wayne Thomas, Jr.; father, Verbon Miller (Ruth Miller) mother, Ethel Cox (Floyd Cox); and brother-in-law, Jerry Lamar.

Shelia is survived by her son, Joshua Thomas (Jessica); sister, Mary Dean Lamar; brother, Douglas Miller (Sandra); sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Thomas; nieces and nephews, Kristy White (Phillip), LeAnne Evans (Drew), Brad Lamar, Ashley Davis (Tim), Anthony Lamar (Bethany), Kim Sharpton (Wade), Paul Miller (Letha), Patrice Thomas; and thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas are 1 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, James Burnham officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family, at the funeral home, from 12 noon until services begin at 1 p.m.
