Sue Malone Hudson

September 13, 1931 - July 25, 2015 Mrs. Sue Malone Hudson died at Pruitt Health in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Saturday, July 25th, 2015 after battling Alzheimer's Disease for several years. Mrs. Hudson was born in Cullman, Alabama and had made Birmingham her home from 1951 - 1991 when she met wonderful new neighbors in Trussville, Al. She became one of the first women elders at First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening, catering, sewing, and cooking for friends and family. She loved special get-togethers with her classmates from the Holly Pond High School class of 1950 which has remained close all these years. She moved to Rock Hill, S.C. in 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Phillips, and her husband, John, of Rock Hill; her daughter, Ann, of Nashville, Tennessee; her son, David, of Pinson; three grandsons: Matthew and Alexander Phillips of Charlotte, N.C., and Robert Hudson of Pinson; her sister, Muriel Stevens, of St. Louis, Missouri, and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her grandson, William Benjamin Phillips of Rock Hill; her sister, Evelyn Sproull, of Charlotte, and her brother, J.C. Malone, of Cullman, Alabama. A memorial service will be held at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, 161 Brooklyn Road, Holly Pond, Alabama, on Saturday, August 15, at 2:00 P.M. The family wishes to thank Pruitt Hospice and Morningside Assisted Living of Rock Hill.
