Threasa Ann Hackney

August 27, 1949 — September 1, 2022

Blountsville

Threasa Ann Hackney, of Blountsville, Alabama, passed away on September 1, 2022, at the age of 73. Ann was born in Blount County, Alabama to Roscoe and Lurline Alldredge Allen on August 27, 1949.

Ann and her husband, Wayne, were married for fifty-four years, proving that two people who have absolutely nothing in common can have many years of happiness together. Ann loved to read, dance, and to eat potato chips. She enjoyed movies and television shows, particularly the television series “Murder She Wrote.” Mrs. Hackney enjoyed the mountains, and she loved animals of all kinds, but she had a special place in her heart for Yorkies and hummingbirds. Mrs. Hackney was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Liberty, Alabama, and was a child of God. She was a loving wife and mother, and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann will be missed greatly by many people.

Mrs. Hackney is preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Lurline Alldredge Allen; brother, Perry Joe Allen; and grandson, Brian Michael Herndon.

Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Jerriel Wayne Hackney; children, Veronica Ross (Don), Timothy Wayne Hackney, Carrie Ann Glass (Billy); grandchildren, Brandon Herndon (Kaitlyn), Alisha Stanichowsky (Erick), Chasity Swearingen (Chris), Hannah Hunt (Blake), Matthew Hackney, Mckinzye Terry, Rylan Terry; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Darlene Sansing; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hackney are 2 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Rock Springs Methodist Church, Jerry Hackney and Terry Butts officiating, with visitation beginning, at the church, at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Brandon Herndon, Matthew Hackney, Kevin Hackney, Billy Glass, Blake Hunt, and Gabriel Henry serving as pallbearers.
