Wanda “Polly” Burks Holcombe

Polly Holcombe, age 82, of Cullman, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 in Hanceville. She was born July 28, 1935, in Cullman County to Early Burks and Effie Mae Sloan Burks.

Mrs. Holcombe was a loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of four, and a great-grandmother. Mrs. Holcombe was a telephone operator for AT&T for twenty five years before retirement, and is a member of Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Holcombe is preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty two years, J.C. Holcombe; brother, Allen Burks; and sister, Ann Graves.

Mrs. Holcombe is survived by sons, William “Bill” (Tina) Holcombe and Greg (Nita) Holcombe; daughter Judy (Dave) Kennemer; brothers, Adrian G. Burks and Hugh Burks; sisters; Alice White and Imogene McClendon; grandchildren, Carrie Anne (Slade) Guess, Clay Evan Holcombe, Montana LaShea Holcombe, and Kolby Grace Holombe; and one great-grandchild, Callister Kennemer Guess.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2017, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers are Clay Holcombe, Phil White, Ken White, Kevin Burks, Jason Burks, Tony Holcombe, Tom Camp, and Brian Camp.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
