William Clifton Dunlap

William Clifton Dunlap 90 passed away peacefully in his sleep at Westminster Assisted Living in Cullman on November 25, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents Tom and Effie Mae Dunlap, his beloved wife Iva Lee “Boots” and son, David Lee. He leaves behind two siblings, Tommy Dunlap (Dianah) of Lafayette, TN and Lucille Gilley of Brooklyn, AL; 3 sons, Larry (Joan), Tim (Tammie) and Phillip; 4 grandchildren, Kyle Dunlap, Alex Lee Dunlap, Stephanie Wiggins, Elizabeth Dunlap and 1 great grandchild.

Born on May 27, 1926, WC was a World War II Navy Veteran, a devoted husband and proud father providing his family with hard, honest work crossing the country as a long haul truck driver and and later provided transportation for many well-known and unknown musicians and celebrities. Known for his backwoods common sense and practicality, he was loved by all. He offered hours of entertainment to his friends and family with his stories from the road. He continued his love of travel and this country into his retirement.

Funeral Services to be held at Holly Pond Funeral Home on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.. The Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., prior to service.

The family wishes to recognize and thank the staff at Westminster Assisted Living who cared for and loved WC the last years of his life, as well as the nurses of Southern Care Hospice Services, who made this transition so much easier for them and for WC.
