Wilna Leanese Smith, of Cullman, Alabama, entered the presence of our Lord on August 21, 2026, at the age of 83.

Ms. Smith was born in Morgan County, Alabama, on July 14, 1943, to the late Robert Franklin and Lillian Elzora Chambers Wood.

Leanese is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Franklin Smith; and brothers, Albert Wood, Conard Wood, and Tucson “Tooter” Wood.

Those left to cherish the many memories made with Ms. Smith include her children, Boyd Smith (Linda), Steve Smith (Tamalyn), Sandra Hyde (Darrett); brothers, Jerry Wood (Margaret), Buford Wood (Mitzi), Larry Wood; grandchildren, Jesse Smith (Chivonne), Jason Smith (Cecily), Kristen Paul (David), Heather Foote (Jeff), Todd Mann, Amanda Blevins (Chris), Jacob Smith (Lyndsey), Heath Hyde (Kolby), Clancey Hyde (Lindsey), Jared Hyde (Kloie); a host of great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Leanese loved the Lord and will be remembered for her steadfast faith in Him.

Friends are invited to join the Smith family for a time of visitation on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Nathan Chambers officiating. All services will be held at Plainview Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Smith will be laid to rest in the Smith Family Cemetery, located at 1531 County Road 771, Cullman, AL 35055, following services, where her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
